All the best for 2023 and beyond to you. But, before we close out the year, I thought I’d share a few things that I added to the archive.

Terry Murphy recently shared some footage on his Vimeo site that includes live footage of Sonic’s Rendezvous Band, Destroy All Monsters, Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers, and Bootsey X.

  1. Does anyone remember the night Life magazine came in to shoot pics for an article about the Detroit punk scene? 1979-80
I can’t remember if that article ever happened.

    1. Shari – I think you might be looking for StreetLife.

It was born out of the White Noise crew since the final issue of White Noise, number 6, was a double-sided issue with StreetLife.

There is a some information on the White Noise page about it but not a lot.

I interviewed one of the writers who worked on it and he said it was kind of a up-and-down publication that didn’t have a steady schedule due to lack of money. I’ve tried to track down issues but I haven’t had much luck. I know that there were some issues starting in late 1979 or early 1980 with one I saw from 1983. I also wrote a bit more about it in the Orbit book (just a page or two in the White Noise section). But if anyone has any additional information, please share it with me.

      Best to you.
