Started by Johnny Chamberlin in the late summer 1978, SPOOEE! was a rival Detroit punk paper to White Noise. The full size tabloid started with a preview issue before releasing regular issues between November 1978 and April 1979.

SPOOEE! folded after three issues, but some staffers from the magazine went on work with fellow creatives at White Noise to create Street Life in 1980.
